Bridging Transportation Research and Practice
I coordinate research in traffic safety and human factors with the Oregon Dept. of Transportation, and am an adjunct researcher with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). A Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellow, I earned a doctorate in Community and Regional Planning at The University of Texas at Austin. Previously, I was a tenured Associate Professor of urban and regional planning at UTSA, and worked as a researcher and planner with TTI's Planning and Engagement Program, CAMPO, TBG Partners, and Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. I earned AICP certification in 2005, and have maintained it continuously since.
Current projects include Transport Truths, a forthcoming book with Bristol University Press, and an NSF grant supporting work to develop a publicly-available micromobility testbed and crowd-sensing/crowd-sourcing infrastructure called ScooterLab.
I serve on the editorial advisory board for Transport Findings.
